Founding Father's Day

At Good Shepherd Catholic Boys’ Secondary School, we celebrate our founders' day yearly in style. We do this in honour of all those who took time and pains to think, plan, build and finally put what Good Shepherd Catholic Boys' Secondary School (GSCBoss) is today into reality.

Founded in the year 2000 under the episcopacy of His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Richard Burke, Good Shepherd Catholic Boys’ Secondary School, Oyede has waxed through the years to become one of the leading providers of functional education within and around Delta State and states within south-south of Nigeria.

GSCBoss is a mono-educational school owned by the Catholic Diocese of Warri. The school is solely boarding for Boys guided by the Catholic Church to raise God-fearing, disciplined and a totally educated generation of young men who will be leaders of tomorrow.

Today, GSCBoss Oyede, has become a success within Delta State and Nigeria in general. It is a Catholic-owned Educational Institute in Isoko-North Local Government area of Delta State. She offers a highly competitive educational package to students in a serene and nature-friendly environment. GSCBoss Oyede standards are high, making her one of the leading providers of qualitative education in Delta State, Nigeria and the world all over.

Cultural Day - Music, Dance & Drama

Good Shepherd Catholic Boys’ Secondary School, cultural festival is celebrated yearly on the school playground with parents, pupils, dignitaries and other invited guests from within and outside the state.

It is an avenue where all tribes and cultures in Nigeria showcase their colourful attires, beliefs and ways of life using dance, dress code and drama as a way of identification.

The school has introduced a Music & Dance Troupe for energetic and enthusiastic students who enjoy physical and creative art form. The troupe rehearses after school once a week and during some recess breaks. The Drama group performs during school activities for entertainment of the entire audience from time to time.

All our students are encouraged to take part in our cultural production program where Dance, Music & Drama are incoporated. Although, we understand that not all students want to be part of these groups, but will equally be valued as members of our backstage, sound and lighting or costume design teams.

Inter-House Sports

Here at GSCBoss, sports is a vital part of our academic structure. We build on pupils capacity by way of conducting a competitive athletics meeting of all school houses for pride and honour.

The yearly event puts together the best in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and relay race. Other events such as short put, javelin, long jump and high jump are also contested.

As usual, the event is always graced by elites of the society, parents, guardians, old students and special guests from all parts of the state.

Carols

X-Mass Carol at GSCBoss is an event held on every second or third week of December before vacation. This event is highly graced by clerics from the highest authorities of our Diocesses.

This December event puts together the best in lessons and rhymes from the season's collections of adorable songs. Pupils are also given the opportunity to showcase their talent on stage through songs and drama that signifies the birth of Jesus Christ

Matriculations & Graduations

Matriculations and Graduations at GSCBoss are special occasions that marks the beginning and end of time our pupils spend with us.

Both events brings in new talents ready to be groomed and shaped into a completely refined talent ready to storm the society with confidence and dexterity taped from GSCBoss.

Our graduates are specially nurtured with the best educational facilities - guided by the right tutors in the right environment.

Trips & Excursions

At GSCBoss, our pupils are constantly exposed to activities like quizzes, sports competition, seminars, lectures, symposiums, sites and scenes that will develop them mentally, physically and morally. This termly workout is organized for all classes (Basic 7 - SSS 3) under strict surveillance and security to and from the excursion site.

We leave our school compound well organized in our air-conditioned school buses with well trained student counsellors and coordinators for the trips.

We take pupils to places like the NNPC, Steel Plants, Cement Factories, Roofing Sheet Factories, Chemical Plants, Power Plants, Water Treatment Plants, Palm Kernel Processing Plants, Refineries, Zoos, Libraries, Museums and other places of interest.

While on their trips, pupils are treated to series of delicacies that suite their choice. At the end, Questions and Answers are treated with pupils by tutors who stand to correct wrong impressions.

Finally, reports are written and submitted by each pupil as part of their assessment.

ICT - Social Media

We have a well-equipped an ICT centre and an ICT-compliant library (e-library), classrooms with a fair teacher-to-student ratio. The entire school environment from the chapel arena to our dormitories and sports field have access to a Wi-Fi network that runs none stop.

Our online test, quiz and accessment for pupils has been our cutting edge when it comes to online and offline testing of academic performance. This is also applicable to entry screening test/examination for new intakes where candidates get their scores immediately they finish their test.

Our students can check their terminal results and academic performance online at our website and parents do not have to go through the stress of visiting the school for such. This technique also eliminates the presentation of altered/non-genuine academic results by pupils to their parents and guardians.

Conclusively, our e-library and effiecient laundry service are all linked to our ICT center. All these are boosted by our uninterrupted power supply within our school environment.
